Hunting is conservation and with our projects, we work hard to ensure the Sika herd thrives in a sustainable environment, making it a better situation for the hunter; the hunted; as well as the forests and mountain lands in which they live.

Sharing experiences is what we’re about, and alongside NZ Game Animal Council and DOC, we would like you to get behind Conservation Week/Te Wiki Tiaki Ao Tūroa (15-23 August).

Every year, Conservation Week sees thousands of New Zealanders getting involved through doing conservation activities at home or attending one of many events hosted across the country.

Engage online, at activities or events, or by exploring your own backyard. Creating change can be big or small, when we pull together, we can make a big difference.

If you have Instagram, enter this competition where you can win a Canon camera and accessories worth over $4.5k.

HIND-SIGHT COMPETITION

We'd love to see many more entries so do get involved! Through winter 2020, the Sika Foundation is running a competition to encourage hunters to learn more about their hunting locations by studying the Sika hinds they shoot.

Winter is the ideal time (ethically) to harvest Sika hinds, when last year’s young are plenty old enough to survive and before the new fawns are born.

If you enter the Hind Sight competition, we will publish your story and photos on our website and you will be in to win some great prizes.

Become a Sika Manager - not just a Sika Consumer!

Find all the information about how to enter and what the prizes are here.

2020 SIKA SHOW

Unless the Covid-19 Alert Levels change things between now and then, the Sika Show is set to go ahead on September 26 & 27 at the Great Lake Centre and Tongariro Domain in central Taupo.

We'll be there again with a team of volunteers, so come and say hi and ask any questions you may have. As a Sika Foundation member, you will get free entry to the show so don't forget to bring your membership card.

If you have an electronic version of your membership card, make sure you have it on your phone or print out a copy so there won't be any issues on entry.

If you haven't paid your subs yet, we advise you to do it now as only current members will get free entry. We hope to see you all there.

As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions.
